16th Birthday Presents
It can be challenging to find birthday presents to please a teenager. But don’t despair, there are plenty of gifts you can buy for the most difficult to please teen that will bring joy to their 16th birthday.
Reading a Good Book
Does your 16 year old like to read? Buy a book about their favorite subject, or one written by their favorite author. Put the book in a basket along with their favorite cookies or candies, and a mug for their favorite beverage. There is nothing more relaxing than enjoying a good read along with favorite treats and a beverage.
Music, Music, Music
What teenager would not like getting a CD as a 16th birthday present? Buy them a CD you know they want, or give them a gift card to their favorite music store. Musical gifts can also take the form of a musical instrument, or accessories for an instrument they already possess. Concert tickets (especially if they can take a friend along), or music lessons customized to their skill level are also a good choice.
Eco Gifts
In this day and age, it is hard to go wrong with an eco themed gift as a 16th birthday present. Do they have a favorite animal or ecological cause? Making a donation in their name to adopt an endangered animal ie: dolphin or polar bear, or to buy a portion of land to help a conservation area grow larger, can contribute to saving the planet.
Electronics
If the don’t already have a cell phone, a laptop or an ipod, perhaps at sixteen years of age they would love to have these items. If they already have them, find out if there is an accessory, such as an ipod dock, that they would like.
Joke or Gag Gifts
Joke gifts can be a lot of fun if you know and understand the teen’s sense of humor. Just make sure it is something that will genuinely tickle their funny bone, and won’t backfire.
Gift of a New Experience
What do you give the sixteen year old who already has too much stuff? You give them an experience to remember. Have they ever been to a spa for a massage, gone up in a hot air balloon, gone go carting, had cooking lessons in an exotic cuisine, driven a race car, or gone rock climbing? Make it even more memorable by inviting one or more of their friends along.
Clothing
What teenager is not fashion conscious? Find out what they like to wear, what stores stock what they like, and buy something for them. Better yet, get them a gift card so they can pick out something for themselves.
You can get a 16th birthday present that reflects the teen’s likes and interests, or you can give them the gift of experience in something they have never tried before. When in doubt, clothing or something musical, will never disappoint.
